What is the development kit for?

The MULTOS development kit allows you to write, load, debug and test MULTOS applications running MULTOS Trust Anchor.

In many situations, debugging can be done in-chip making development much easier. The onboard LED and push switch on the evaluation board reduce the need to connect external components for test purposes.

What is a MULTOS Trust anchor?

A MULTOS Trust Anchor is a secure microcontroller like those found in banking and ID cards, but much more powerful and flexible.

As well as having hardened, tamper protected hardware from one of the world’s leading manufacturers, it runs the most secure microcontroller operating system in the world, MULTOS.

MULTOS provides easy, totally secure provisioning, application isolation, robust hacking countermeasures and a unique identity.

How can I use it?

A MULTOS Trust Anchor can be used anywhere that you need to perform secure cryptographic operations and store sensitive data. Depending on the use case, a MULTOS Trust Anchor can be used as a cryptographic co-processor in a larger device or as the master, controlling microcontroller in a smaller device.

The secure environment and cryptographic support lends itself to implementation of strong authentication, data encryption (at rest and in transit), integrity checking (e.g. Secure boot), payments and much more.
